Successfully defying the trend with the right positioning. While the whole world was labouring under the financial crisis, motan-colortronic – one of the world’s leading manufacturers of peripheral equipment for plastic manufacturing and processing and chemical industries – realigned itself completely. And, because the company consistently communicated its new brand positioning to target groups in advertisements, customer letters and an attention-catching booth concept, it was able to enjoy the fruits of its labours at the K 2010, the world’s largest plastic exhibition in Düsseldorf: An impressive 42 % more visitors to the booth although there were 8 % less visitors overall. That is quite an achievement – and one reflected in the balance sheet results which reached the high levels of 2008.
